When I select a recipient for a text message from Contacts, if that recipient has an email address saved in its profile, then the message is automatically sent as an MMS. The only way I can change this is by deleting the email address from the recipient's profile.
I have been texting for many years, but never used MMS before; is it a problem that texts convert in this way? Do my intendended recipients receive my message?
In addition, how do I re-send a sent message to a new recipient? I can find no way to change the recipient on screen.
I am deafened, so use my mobile specifically for texting, not voice conversations, so you can imagine, this information is critical for me. I am not finding it easy, thus far, to find my way round this very expensive piece of kit I have purchased!
Really hope someone can help!:smileypraying:

SMS = regular text
MMS = multimedia message service, if you want to send a small video, audio, picture and/or if your text message is longer than one SMS (160characters) then it will be converted to MMS, you will require a data plan to send and receive MMS.
To resend a MMS just long press on the picture, video, audio, text and then forward or copy the MMS

Thank you very much; will take a look.:smileyhappy:
Er, what is a data plan?
P.S. Actually, I already have the userguide to which you so kindly directed me. It doesn't answer this specific question, but I'm hoping to get the answer from the other kind poster. I have never had the need to use MMS, so an 'innocent' on that topic as yet! But thanks anyway.
Hi again JoeYap,
Thank you so much for helping me through the first few days of my Xperia ownership; I was all at sea, but am beginning to get to grips at long last. Having imported all my contacts has helped, also registering my email address which I was delaying as I was changing from my original ISP (DemonThus) to Sky. Am not entirely sure I will stay with Sky as the email provider turns out to be Yahoo carrying loads of advertising, which I'm not keen on. They don't tell you this at the time of purchase of course...
Anyway, just to register my thanks and not to leave these questions hanging in the air - it must be frustrating to you 'experts' not knowing whether your help was of value or not.
Regards and respect
