Hi @awais123

I suggest connect your device to a wall charger and then press and hold power & volume up for more than 10 seconds. Let it charge for 2 to 3 hours, even if it doesn't seem to be charging. Also you can try by plugging the usb cable as you hold volume down.

If when turn on the Sony device only the red led light flashed multiple times, this could be because battery was fully drained or there was a problem with the boot. Also you can try press the 3 buttons Power, Volume down and Volume up for about 8 seconds and then release them, the Sony logo should appear.

If it nothing seems to solve the problem, you have to consider visiting a sony service:

I'm at disposal for any question.

I had the same problem, phone was about 16 months old, still under warranty. Ports closed, got wet, promptly decided to not turn on.

Sent it back to O2. Posted it to them on Wednesday lunch time. Got it back, fixed, on Friday 11:30am! No charge, O2 fixed it under warranty. They didn't specify what they did, but it was wiped when I got it back.

Would highly recommend sending it back to the retailer if ifs on contract. O2 in particular were great.

(Note: it did cost about £7.50 to send it Special Delivery back to O2, so there was a small cost).

From now on, I'm keeping this thing dry (I didn't really buy it for its IP rating, it was just a good bonus with kids in tow), as with any future IP-rated devices.

Disappointed with how easily this thing broke, and surprised by it. I'm forever singing Sony's praises.

As a final point - not long after it broke, I noticed the rubber seal on the charging-port cover wasn't sat flush. A bit of prodding, and I can get it to sit properly again, but its so difficult to determine whether this is sat properly or not, and I suspect it is that seal that let a trickle of water in (the white indicators were still white, afterwards, mind you).

My girlfriend's phone (Z1 Compact) recently got water damaged as well. She bought it in february 2014, so it's more than

one year old, and she dropped it in the toilet by accident a couple of days ago. She fished it up, rinsed it off and immediately turned it off and put it in a bag of uncooked rice. Three days later the **bleep** thing won't turn, but it will give some life signs if

you either plug it in a wall charger or into a laptop via USB. Won't start though. It currently has a battery charge of 99% and still won't turn on.

Seeing as this has happened to many others, this should clearly be covered by an extended warranty when the phone is SUPPOSED to be IP55/58 certified.

Thought I would post on this thread as I'm at my wits end without my phone, on holiday I took my phone into the pool to take some photos of the children, after coming out of the pool 15 minutes later the screen kept flickering and eventually went blank, before going in the pool the flaps were securely closed. My phone is still responding to messages etc as the phone still makes a noise for notifications but the screen still won't turn on, I did a reset with the vol button and power button still nothing, I have taken the as card and the SIM card out and yet even though "waterproof" there were signs of water in there, I have left open the flaps and kept the cards out to try and let it dry. If it does not return to correct working order, can this be fixed??

I had the same problem. My case is when I washed the phone for about 30sec, the touch screen is not working properly. I try to reboot the device then the screen turns black. But the system is actually running.

I opened the sim cover, no water vestige. I took out the sim tray and sd card slot, keep the cover opened and using dehumidifier to dry inside. After an hour, the screen suddenly resume normal. I immediately backup up all my recent data from the phone. I did the self test for every single category. Lucky they are all working good. From now on, I will not wash my phone under water, but I will still use wet towel to clean my phone regularly. That's it.

I have been using Xperia serious from Z1c, Z5c, to ZX1c. My experience told me that even your phone does not have waterproof problem right now, the seal tape inside the phone will still ageing by the time going.  You will never know when the waterproof will be gone. If you don't change your usage habit and keep playing it under water, one day you will get lesson. My advice is, keep your phone out of water, just clean it by wet towel is good enough. Then your phone can be last longer time.
