Hi guys,
When I went to bed last night my Z3 was working fine. When I woke up, any app I opened closed with the "___________ has stopped" message, so I decided to reset my phone. Now it's stuck in a loop where it will turn on until it gets to the loading page with the blue wave background before turning off and starting this again and again until I hit the little reset square by the microsd with a paperclip.
I've tried connecting it to PC companion and the Mac version (I have a mac at home but can access PCs.) Once it gets to the part where I have to hold the power button and down key while plugging it into the computer, it does nothing and I can't move forward.
I can't seem to put it into flash mode, and I tried installing the EMMA flasher program but it wouldn't recognize that my phone was connected. After more googling seems that maybe unfortunately my phone needs to be in flash mode for this to work.
I haven't modded my phone, haven't installed many apps, and I actually know nothing about phone dealing with/ programming/ booting/ computer language words so some things I am reading online definitely go over my head. I am willing to try though!
My phone will still charge though! (Yayy.....)
I really have no idea what to do. My phone is important to my job and I've already budgeted to the max for this month so buying another isn't an option. It really **bleep** that this happened all of a sudden without warning.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Try these methods one after the other. Verify after each method whether the problem was solved, before trying the next one.
Hi @CameronT
It's definitely not the USB port or cord as I have tried both the ports as well as tried them with my tablet and they work fine. If I try and turn on my phone (sending it into the boot loop) PC companion will detect my phone and try to connect, but it will reboot once again before it has the chance.
As for the USB drivers, if I downloaded PC Companion today, would they be up to date or do I have to get them from somewhere else?
Thanks,
Sophie
Do you have the latest JAVA on your computer also make sure to disable the firewall and antivirus.
Something that has worked for my Xperia Z
Charge the phone for 1 hour > on your computer run PCC > follow all the steps to repair the Xperia Z3 > connect the phone to the computer > Press and hold power & volume up for few seconds so it'll turn off > as soon as it does (turn off) > release those buttons and press and hold the volume up key so it can't be detected by PCC
This might take few attempts and it might be frustrating but it could work.
@uliwooly I am not sure about the java and firewall, as I have a macbook and have not added any of these things to it as far as I know. I have however tried this on two different PCs at work today.
As for the second reply, I can't follow all the steps to repair the z3 in Sony Bridge as I get stuck at step 10 - once I reconnect the phone while holding down the volume key, nothing happens and I can't move on.
Thanks again.
if you can borrow a PC and give it a shot, also try different USB ports with your Mac, if nothing work you will have to contact your Local support
I’m having the same problem with my Z3v. I tried to click on the shared link, but it says access denied. Any way you could share it again, CameronT?
Which link are you referring to?
Also, keep in mind that you have the Verizon variant, which means that repairing the phone through XC its not possible, you have to contact big red for that.
@uliwooly
It was shared in message 7.
I thought I could give it a shot even though it’s a slightly different version of the phone. I’ll try to find out what Verizon has in the way of phone support.
Thank you!

3. Launch the xperia companion on yoyr pc and get it ready to receive your mobile
