Hi guys, i have an Xperia Z5 (E6653) and I have a microsoft office 365 (business version) account that manages all my email, calander & contacts. I setup the account through the built in "gmail" app because the contacts & calander would not sync at all through the native mail app.
The problem I have is that I can see & call my exchange contacts with no problems, they sync fine from the server, but I can't make any changes to the contacts via the phone's native "contacts" app, the edit symbol is there but when i tap the symbol it takes me to the next sreen (edit screen) and from there the screen is basically useless, all the details are grey and un-editable *screenshot attached*
Has anyone else had a similar issue or am I the first?

I don't think that the GMail app can handle Exchange.
You'll need to add your account in Settings --> Accounts --> new "Exchange".
I've done it like this and my Exchange syncs fine.
Hi,
Since is a business version, but i'm not sure if your email address is also business or corporate email that managed by your system admin that he may have some kindda mail policy from the server that restrict the user by amending information sometimes.
have you try to check with your admin is that is the case, but if is a personal email account that shouldn't be any issue to edit the contacts info.
Hey Bandolero thanks for the response, well the admin for the account is me, I manage the admin console of our office 365 account, and I have checked it all out, all seems ok, access is granted. also I have exactly the same permissions setup for a few iOS users and they don't seem to have the same issue, I also had this same exchange account setup on a Samsung & an LG (both running same version of Android as my Z5) and I didnt have this issue with those. seems to be a problem exclusive to my Z5
