Z5 compact disconnects fron wi-fi after being idle for 5 or 10 minutes

Z5 compact disconnects fron wi-fi after being idle for 5 or 10 minutes. I have nougat 7.1.1 and this symptom started only a week ago, never happened before. I put my phone down after using it normally on wifi. Ten minutes later I wake it and look at the lock screen and I see it disconnected from wifi and it's only on LTE.... Without having moved it from the wifi range.

I think I found the problem. Found this setting here that i never knew existed. For whatever reason, it was set to "NEVER". Not sure if this was recently added or what... Still waiting to confirm this takes care of it:

Yes and no...

If you still have problems add anything wifi to the battery optimisation whitelist... The numptys at google are numptys...

That was it for me, I'm still a bit surprised that feature out of the blue enabled itself. Oh well....
