Bravia KDL with UWA-BR100 shut down

I've bought a UWA-BR100 for my KDL-40NX720, although the adapter is recognised and I can connect with my network. As soon as I connect the UWA it will shut down or restart the TV.

I can start the TV again and after a few minutes the same thing happens again.

The adapter is a genuine Sony.

any Ideas?

greeting

Hi,

Quinnicus is correct, your tv already has wifi built in which renders the dongle useless in this case, who told you that you would need this, the dealer?, return it to the store for a refund.

Hi there

This *could* be related to a system conflict. Your NX720 TV already has built in Wifi, therefore adding an adaptor may cause weird and strange things.

Cheers

Make sure you connect to USB#1 i.e. the upper plug-in on TV.

Hi there

My mum has the EX723 which is the exact same as your model, with the UWA-BR100. All works fine. My only suggestion is that you have a fauly UWA-BR100. Maybe try replacing the wireless dongle with another one. At least it would rule it out.

Cheers

Did you try another device i.e. USB storage or camera connected to your TV?

Is USB#2 and if any HDMI left open when trying?

Are you using the latest firmware version?

Are you able to make a wired network connection?

If yes to all I agree to the faulty dongle assumption

don't feel like buying another dongle just to rule it out ... most shops don't have it in store

I've had other USB device connected, not sure however if it was ons USB1, gona try that later

USB2 is/was free, HDMI however 2 ports connected

firmware is updated

and I can make an wireless connection, however only until the TV shuts down

thx for the tips!!

Just a couple of more Q's in this interrogation.:smileywink:

Have you checked the connection status under network settings after connect?

What exact network activity if not random makes the tv reboot?
