How do i convince Bravia to recognise 3D output from BDP-S490

Can someone help me - i have a brand new TV and blu ray player (KDL40HX753BU/BDP-S490) connected via HDMI.  I also have the sony 3D glasses that allow me to watch 3D content on the internet video channel (I have tried this and it works).  When I insert the Blu ray and select 3D, I don't get a 3D picture on the TV and the TV does not detect the 3D content.  What am i doing wrong?

Hi,

go into the players menu under set up- screen settiings and set 3D output setting Auto, tv screen size to 40", tv type 16;9, screen format original, set rest to Auto and try that.

other factors to take into consideration are do you have the latest 1.4 HDMI cable ?, and check that firmware for both tv and player are up to date and see how that goes. last but not least ( and believe me, this catches a few out ) make sure the glasses are charged and turned on !.

i should also add, make sure your using a genuine 3D movie.
