Wi Fi dongle for KDL40EX?

To connect my Sony KDL40EX403U to the internet the manual says I need the sony wi-fi adaptor. Question is can I use a satndard Wi-Fi dongle as available from all computer shops or does it have to be the Sony one at 10x the price!

To connect my Bravia EX723, my Blu-Ray BDP S480 and my Humax HDR Fox T2 to the internet I use a cheap ethernet switch (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000FNFSPY/ref=asc_df_B000FNFSPY10603915?smid=A17AS5ETPMZ9A1&tag=googleco...)

connected to one of a pair of Homeplugs (http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-PA211KIT-200Mbps-Powerline-Ethernet/dp/B004INVKP4/ref=sr_1_3?s=co...) the second of which is connected to my main router elsewhere in the house.

Setup was quite easy as the homeplugs find each other, the switch has no setup, and the instructions for the AV kit was easy enough to follow.

If you get stuck -- Google is your friend.

(There are other Homeplugs and Switches available 😉 )
