Sony BRAVIA KD 49XF8577 - 49" 800 channels missing

Hello,

Living in Northewrn Ireland I have always been able to get UK stations and Irish stations, untill I purchased the Sony BRAVIA KD 49XF8577, with built in YouView.

My inital problem is that the 800 channels are missing which is where a number of the irish stations reside, namley Virginmedia 1, 2 & 3 & RTE 2 HD.

These channels are not picked up with the digital auto tune, however, I can find them when I do a manual tune. The problem is, when prompted to store the channels, I click yes, but they are nowhere to be seen. I believe this is because they are on the 800 range and my TV is not displaying anything above 795.

Has anyone had this issue with the 800 channels or be able to offer any advice?

Hi Cillies,

Have you tried to disable YouView, take the antenna cable out, perform digital auto tuning, then plug the cable in and tune once more to see if the channels will be stored this time?

Hi there,

I'm looking into this and will update the thread whenever I have an answer.

In the meantime perhaps another member of the community will be able to help.

Thanks Sean,

I should point out that I am receiving RTE 1 (52), RTE 2 (53) and TG4 (51) but not channels, Virginmedia 1, 2 & 3 & RTE 2HD  mentioned previously.

I have a samsung TV with built in freeview and it picks up the channels in the 800, no problem.

I imagine its possibly somthing to do with YouView rather than Sony.

Look forward to your response.

Many thanks

Win_88,

You're a diamond. Worked great.

Only problem is, you can't scroll pages using the program bottoms. However, this is so much better.  Thank youl
