A series Optical Driver test.

Right recently there is few posting regarding having problems burning a DVD esp. A series vaio laptop. So i did some test myself to check if i also having the same problems.

My vaio is A317S and the optical drive is
Double layer DVD±RW Drive, DVD RW DW-D56A, Driver Ver 5.1.2535.0

Using Memorex DVD-R 4.7G (120min)

Right, i used Click DVD to convert,
6X .avi movie file, 4mbps (120min) to DVD file.(the higher the mbps the shorter the running time but higher quality.)

It took me about 1-2 hours to convert all the file,
The processor is running at 92-95% and temp. 65C (normal temp. 40C)

After converting the file is 5G and about 128min+ so i had to cut short the movie abit using the Edit movie function to 4.6G about 110min.

Right the moment of truth, using the Memorex DVD-R (4.7G 120min) i click start burn DVD and within 30min its finished burning with no problems at all.

I test it on my vaio and its recognize as DVD movie and i also test it on mu DVD player also no problems at all.

Sum.

I had no problems using a DVD-R disk to burn/copy file into it using my optical drive (A series).

Yep, sounds good.

A Sony DVD in a Vaio Notebook shouldn't make troubles ..... but GRT with Pioneer is another story.

I confirm . I use a A117S, and the drives burn DVD+R and DVD-R at the same speed.
