Hi,

I've had my BX195VP-15" for a month now - my first Vaio(always had Thinkpads before) - Quite impressed with it - not bad performance - great screen BUT build quality isn't quite up to Thinkpad standards...
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about a fix - one of the hooks that hold the screen shut has snapped off - I've contacted support and was told I would have to send it off and if they thought it had been mis-used I'd be charged 100odd squid! the missing hook is annoying but not that much to want to send it off!
Does anyone know where I can get a new catch from???
Failing that anyone have a 14.1 are they any tougher with the magnesium case???

£100? Are they insane?

This has happened to a lot of FS users so I doubt it's your fault it came off.

Really???? Hmmm I take it the FS owners just sent em off??
Anyone had GOOD honest service from them?? JUst wondering if it worth the risk of sending it off to get told I have to pay the full amount!

120 quid to be precise - flat rate fix charge!!! Grrrr

Yeah there were a few who sent it back to Sony as the latch came off within hours of taking delivery
