can i use a non-T-Mobile sim in my vaio?

Just purchased a VGN-TZ21WN/B which is just what I wanted.

Another issue is that I have a Vodafone data contract and wish to use that in my Vaio (part of the reason I bought this machine was it's built-in 3G!!!), but it seems locked to T-Mobile - the software won't allow my SIM to be used!

Is there a software facility for generic SIMs, not just T-Mobile?

The search facility on this forum always returns empty results, so I have had to resort to posting. I hope someone has a solution!

I am looking into changing from T-Mobile tomorrow. Is your problem involving the T-Mobile software, or are you connecting (or trying to) manually?

Hi Dan,

I found the solution here:

I uninstalledthe T-Mobile software, reinstalled the WWAN driver, followed by the Option software...you then need your user, password and APN....all done
