Connecting Vaio to TV via HDMI cable?

Hi all,
I am trying to watch my blu-ray discs on our TV. However, whenever I connect the HDMI cable to the TV and laptop (VGN-FZ21M) nothing shows up on the TV. Am I missing something here? Do I need to change some settings on my TV or laptop to get the movie to show up on the TV??

Hi mnaath and welcome.

Have you tried holding Fn and pressing F7 to switch the output to the HDMI socket?

Have you set the TV to receive through the HDMI input?

Are you using the latest version of InterVideo WinDVD BD 8.0.8.425?
