Hi, I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FS415S , I 've installed a new Operating System, WinXP Proff, I installed all the drivers, but I cannot use the function keys like the level of sound or bright. Where could I get the keyboard driver?
I was looking for that in VAIO LINK, but I couldn't get anything.
NEED HELP PLEASE:smileycry:
Hi Tupascsoul and welcome to the forum.
Download the pre-installed Utilities, for your model from Vaio-Link and extract the file. You will then have Installer folders number 1 to 10, plus a couple of others.
Install the following (in this order):
Sony Utilities (Installer Folder 1)
Sony Shared Library (Installer Folder 2)
Vaio Event Service (Installer Folder 5)
Then re-boot. You may possibly have to repeat this procedure a couple of times before the function keys will work.

Hi,
I got the same problem, re-installing a fresh new OS (trying to solve overheating problems).
I solved with these instructions, hope they can help.
SONY VAIO HOTKEY UTILITY
(adds "Sony Vaio Hotkey Utility" to your own WINXP on your laptop) (tested on SONY VAIO VGN-A217M, VGN-S26C, VGN-FS195XP )
(note: it works on my sony vaio PCG-K315Z as well)
A: First uninstall of your computer (if they are installed) :
1. Hotkey Utility
2. Sony utilities DLL
B: Download: "vaio hotkey driver.zip" and unpack
anywhere on your harddrive
C: Then install exactly in this sequence :
1. 1 SONY SHARED LIBRARY
!! reboot your computer !!
2. 2 SONYUTILS
3. 3 HOTKEY
!! reboot your computer again to affect changes !!
