Installing a normal grpahics driver

Hey, what would happen if installed a normal NVIDIA forceware driver instead of the sony made one. Will it just not work? is it risky?

The usual nVidia driver downloadable from nVidia website won't recognize your videocard and will not install at all.

Hey!

I have a VGN-FS315S and I installed an updated driver package from nVidia with a modified .inf file.
Windows did recognize the graphic card and the installation went smooth. But I got less perfomance in games, even though my graphic card is listed on the compability list.

I might have overlooked some important configuration, but I wouldn´t know 😞

By the way, I apply to say something more:
In non-widescreen resolutions (using Sony´s original drivers), fullscreen aplications aren´t stretched, while in the driver package I installed from nVidia, fullscreen is stretched. Can anyone help me with this?
