Keys on the Keyboard

I am an IT manager for a group of hotels and we decided that 3 months ago we would install Vaio's on the Front Reception. Desk we already have around 15 vaio's within the organisation . It has now come to my attention that on both Vaio Laptops that the KEys are begining to fade very quickly! The laptops are both the same and I have spoken with Vaio Link and they have advised that they can only send out a maximum of 5 keys per laptop 😞 I asked if there would be any likelyhood of me being able buy some additional one but I have not heard anything back? Does anyone here have any ideas or suggestions ..... Many Thanks

Simon

Thank you for turning to the Club VAIO Forum with your problem. Your inquiry has been recognized and will be dealt with. We will contact you via email

Kind Regards
CU

No offence CU, but why is Simon getting a reply from you when 99.9% of the posters here do not get a reply? I know you can't reply to everything, but don't you think this is favioritism?

I have been using Club VAIO for now nearly 30 months, and I have never seen this before, so because he owns a business he gets priority service? No offence to Simon, but why should he get top ranking service when a lot of people with this very issue have been told by Sony "only 5 keys are allowed" and "the keyboard will need replacing and it'll cost even though you're within your warranty period".

I can understand if Simon has a premium business VAIO package - but thats usually sorted out with VAIO+ and in that case VAIO-Link give priority help, but as this isn't VAIO Link - I don't see why.

Sorry that you have to be in the centre of this row Simon, but there's been a lot of people with problems, look at the FS, still not sorted for a lot of users.

Delete this post if you want, I couldn't care less, but I feel that the rest of the club isn't being treated fairly, and this is just unfair, we pay exactly the same for the VAIO, we expect equal opportunities, and equal rights.

I feel a little let down by this, I have been helping people for ages, giving them quality service and helping them as much as I can before they go to VL.

Don't discriminate as you wouldn't like to be discriminated against.

Very well said mate!

I could not have put that any better myself. We have all paid a lot of money for these computers, so we deserve quality service that is fair and equal across the board.

That ought to be a product recall, the FS series has a lot of outstanding issues with many customers.

I agree, I have also spent a lot of time and energy here helping people for many months now, and I feel extremely disappointed when I see a whole VAIO line (the FS series) crumbling in front of users, favouritism, and specialist treatment.

I sincerely hope that favouritism is not in play here, and we can expect a fair, equal, high quality VAIO-Link service for all VAIO customers regardless of status.

I'm sure that this is just the beginning of a time where customers issues will be helpfully sorted out behind the scenes when an enquiry is made regarding unhelpful or unsatisfactory service from Vaio-Link support. I am absolutely positive that this has nothing to do with being the IT manager of a hotel chain, or the amount of orders for Vaio computers that must have been placed by this company.

Furthermore, I am positively joyous that a similar service on a personal level will be shortly extended to each and every member of Club Vaio. It is just a wonderful attitude for a company to take, and I will be telling all my friends about the helpful service they can expect on the exceptionally rare occasions that Vaio-Link does not give 110% satisfaction to those asking for support.

I look forward to shortly hearing about the resolution of hldomsters troubles regarding his new FS series computer, a sterling young man who takes an active part in Club Vaio since he joined and will be delighted to hear that the phrase

will be applied his small string of problems, due only to sheer bad luck. It is a great relief to know that Sony will henceforth be helping above and beyond the call of duty to every single customer dissatisfied with the service they have received. It is this kind of attention to detail and genuine caring that makes a company a household favourite.

Maybe we should test this theory out....

Wonder if the next 0 answer post will get this?

Course they will, you don't think that Sony would take the trouble to do this just for a business do you?

Dear me, the very thought. What a cynical gentleman you are.

I posted 'My Vaio is melting' back in January 2005 and I'm looking at a poxy sratch n sniff collection of rag tag keyboard characters that started melting off from week one onwards. As I'm in Brazil and have yet to venture back to take on the Vaio-link people for a new keyboard I am very disappointed to be informed that only 5 keys will be replaced and the cost is around £80 for a refurbished set from the yanks. I run a business too and if I treated my customers like this I would be out of business fast. I needs at least 12 keys replaced and beleive me I really look after this equipment. Maybe we should get together for a some group pressure tactics. All the other aspects of the Vaio PCG-K215Z have been very satisfactory but I simply cannot tolerate this kind of rubbish considering the units are going down in cost with every release. By the way thanks for you help with the spyware problems Tyger Tyger and Kee-lo. Cheers
