optical out cable?

Do I use a mini TOS connector on the optical out socket ? (vaio AR11M) I am connecting to an Audigy soundcard that has optical in but the socket looks different, square in shape (TOS?)

The vaio socket is round in shape?!

As far as I know all Vaios use SPDIF which means a standard TOSLINK cable.

If the connectors look different, it could be that one is a male connection and the other female.

On your laptop the optical connection is Mini Toslink (3.5mm)

The cable you need should look something like thisTL to Mini TL

Adaptor for standard cabe is here

The square end will go to your Audigy card.
