Overheating...?

For some reason my Vaio keeps overheating and switching itself off. It's currently on top of 4 spray cans so it has more air getting to the underneath of it.... although it has still shut down when several processes are running....

When it switches off the underneath (particularly towards the back) is really hot....

I'm not an expert on these things so I'm unsure what is wrong... has the fan (If there is one?!) stopped working inside?

No doubt I'll have to take this to be repaired, but just wondering what the problem could be...

Thanks..

There's a good chance that the fans are full of dust. Take off the side panel and give them a blow wth an air duster
