Problem with sound on XL-201

Hi there, Can anyone help.
I have a Samsung 42" connected to my Sony Media Centre XL-201. When I switch the tv off, what ever is playing be it, television or music, the sound distorts and jumps. Once the tv has been off for a few minutes the sound returns to normal. The same happens again when the television is turned back on.

any ideas people what could be causing this ?

Well, its now been almost two months of owning the XL-201.
Sony really do not care about their customers at all.
Having paid £999.99 for a bit of kit that does not work really gets my back up!

Have phone their support people more than five times now.

They dont care, just take your money and run.

Am changing to the Acer Idea 510, does not look as good, but has dual tuner.....
