I've had a tv tuner problem which didn't get better after a recovery so it's been back to Sony for a repair. The tv is now working fine but I can't get the music, video or CD/DVD buttons to work on Vaio launcher.
It seemed to be trying to register these devices using the computer name YOUR-E292E97FF0 which didn't seem right.
I've found how to change YOUR-E292E97FF0 and have changed my computer name to my serial number 8 digits-7digits but I got an error message saying that the NETBIOS name of the computer is 15 bytes so it's truncated it. I've restarted my pc & tried to register the devices again but I still get an error message:
vaio registration was cancelled because a communication error occurred. click retry to start registration again.
I have retried but it still fails.
Is it the DNS name that I need to set & if so what to?
What do I need to do to register these devices? I have had a good look again at theFAQs but can't find anything.
