Replacing VGA cable on Vaio

Can anybody guide me through changing a VGA cable on a VGN-AR71J ? I'm puzzeled by it , currently looks like I've to completely strip the machine , which is surely not right ??

Is this an external cable from the Vaio to a monitor or is the VGA socket not working and you suspect an internal cable?

If it is an external cable, then it just pulls out of the socket on the right-hand side of your Vaio.
