Sony Vaio VPCEB4C5E 1366x768 vs 1920x1080

Hey guys,

So last Friday I received my custom Sony Vaio E series laptop, specs shown below:

Intel Core i5-480M Processor / 2.66 GHz
4 GB 1066MHz DDR3-SDRAM
500 GB Serial ATA (5400 rpm)
ATI Mobility Raderon HD 5470
Blu-ray Disc writer
1920X1080 15" LCD
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

As you can see the display is 1920x1080 which is 1080p. As a result of this everything on the screen is tiny. I am able to read the text because of the high quality screen however I'm still considering sending it back and getting the 1366x768 display which is still 720p. I have tried changing the DPI to 25% which did help in some since however made some of the icons appear stretched. Ideally I would like a resolution of 1600x900 however Sony currently don't offer this on their 15" E Series laptops.

Also, I went to PC World today and compared my screen with the same model however with a 1366x768 resolution which appeared to be kinda blurry compared to mine. I couldn't understand why as its 720p and on a 15" laptop I wouldn't have thought it would have made much of a difference.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi.

Well, a couple of months ago I was in the same situation as you.

New Vaio and 1080p screen resolution and everything looked tiny.On the other hand my other Vaio (720p) everything was perfect.

Once you get used to it  you will be thankfull  that yor screen is 1080p.

My advice is....don't change it!!

Leave it as it is!
