System Time Date not in sync

Hi,

My Sony VAIO XP/C laptop has some problem in displaying the correct system time/date. It always shows some random previous date, even after if I'd adjusted it before shut down.

Could anyone let me know, what could be the issue pls?

First port of call would be to have the CMOS battery changed.

Does this mean that I have to contact the VAIO tech support and send in my laptop for service to change the CMOS battery?

Yes and no, you could get a local technician to do it for you, but if it's within warranty you'd be better off having them deal with it.
