Tricky situation regarding Recovery Tool Utility

Dear All,

A friend of mine is asking me to recover her vaio laptop. She did not make DVDs before hand. The harddrive still has the recovery partition. The tricky thing is I can't find the Recovery Tool Utility installed on the laptop. Any suggestions of what I can do? (Except ordering DVDs from vaio-link).

If the VAIO Recovery Utility still exists, you will find it in

Start -> All Programs -> Vaio Recovery Tool -> Vaio Recovery Utility

If this has been deleted but the Recovery Partition still exists, you should be able to start the Recovery Utility by tapping F10 when you see the first Vaio logo screen when booting your Vaio.

The Recovery will take the Vaio back to a "as new" state - so back up anything important first. Plug it into the mains during the Recovery and do not interrupt the Recovery even if it appears to have stopped.
