Printing from X1 ii to a normal wifi printer with IP.

Morning all, It's nice isn't it, the new 1 ii.

But can I get it to print? Noooo.

Have an Epson RX700 AIO printer connected to local network using a simple wifi device. Works on every device known to man ... laptop's, desktops, Pixelbook, Nexus 7, you name it ... using normal Android print function and Google Cloud Print.

But I cannot get it to find that same printer (working so long and settings unchanged) when using the 'Add Printer By IP Address' function.

Anyone using with success? Any pointers etc?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

My Brother printers are doing fine with Brother iPrint & Scan.

So I think in analogy that you can use the Epson print app from playstore.

It seems that cloud print s/w is not included in the basic build of the Xperia 1 ii.

In a way makes sense as probably only a small number of people are printing from smartphones.

The Z5 build included it as standard. This is where I went wrong I think.

I installed the cloud print option (standard Android component) and it worked nicely.

I did try add the Epson add on off play store but that did not work .... and indeed it was hard to work out what it's actual purpose in life was/is ... not much of a description.

Next is try and see if it works with a wifi printer in hotel and such like. See no reason why it will not.
