The NFC icon is not in quick settings (Xperia 1 MK II)

In order to turn on NFC I need to go deep into the settings -> device connection ->  NFC -> Turn On.

Sony what were you thinking ?! Please FIX IT! NFC-miss.png

, please don't make me a BFU okay? I don't need to know that the function isn't there. I only reported that it would be appropriate to return this function. There is nothing left but to wait for more future updates and hope that SONY will add it back.

RottenFoxBreath This can be solved / bypassed while holding down the bluetooth icon and directing you to the device settings. it's not quite that but still better than turning it on through the settings ...

Hi there,

You can reach Xperia support here.

Let us know how it goes.

Best wishes,

M

How can SONY support help me in this case? I don't assume that SONY support is so good that they program it for me remotely. I'm just reporting a missing feature issue that has more people ...

hello @Deexer

I dont know if you have tried this , but if you scroll down while you are on that setting, there are more shortcuts to be seen ... then you can drag the NFC shortcut to the main pull down notification area..

Read the reddit, some phones just lack an NFC shortcut.

When you read the online manual you'll see that NFC and Hotspot links are omitted.

However there's a trick to get a one click button on your home screen.

Regrettably this trick does not work for NFC. However you can try it for Hotspot and a series of other shortcuts.

  • Long press on the home screen
  • Tap widgets
  • Scroll to settings
  • Long press on settings icon
  • there you go

What reason should SONY omit them ? I would really accept it and close this case, however some owners of Xperia 1 II NFC have an icon there! So I'm confused now.

So what you writes is simply not true and it must be a bug...

Looks like it's missing from Pixel phones as well.

That's not the NFC logo is it?, surely it's an "N" just like in Connection Preferences, well it was on my old phone and my Xperia 1, and that's up to the latest Android 10 as well.

If it's on o2, I can't see a sim only and unlocked phone doing that, and I've got an o2 phone and sim, and have a colleague who has a sim free with o2 sim, and neither of us has that.

Highly doubtful o2 would remove that in the phones they sell, or edited updates..as it's missing on other phones from other retailers.

I just thought it was gone, cause it's gone on other phones too.
