The NFC icon is not in quick settings (Xperia 1 MK II)

In order to turn on NFC I need to go deep into the settings -> device connection ->  NFC -> Turn On.

Sony what were you thinking ?! Please FIX IT! NFC-miss.png

According to my NFC research, Google removed in Android 10 for "security" reasons. It's still weird that someone still says it's there otherwise I wouldn't work on it anymore, maybe they haven't installed the latest updates or anything? It's weird ... I still hope SONY will add it back.

Checked a 3rd Xperia 1 II and it's definitely NOT there.

And that one is running on an EE sim.

All 3 have the same software versions.

Just do as I suggested and read the manual.

  • Open the support app on your device
  • Tap on Learn more, browse guides and articles
  • Tap on User guide, understand how your device works
  • Tap on Software update features
  • Tap on Changes after updating the software to Android 10
  • Scroll down and tap on Elimination of some functions using NFC

I don't know if the information is the same in Xperia 1 II as in my Xperia 1

, please don't make me a BFU okay? I don't need to know that the function isn't there. I only reported that it would be appropriate to return this function. There is nothing left but to wait for more future updates and hope that SONY will add it back.

RottenFoxBreath This can be solved / bypassed while holding down the bluetooth icon and directing you to the device settings. it's not quite that but still better than turning it on through the settings ...
