USB charging

Hi.

Xperia 10 ii will not charge using usb charger in my car, and can't find any settings to allow.

I'm in the uk, I have tried the same cable from the house but nothing, in the car.

Hi Nic

Result but feeling stupid, as it was the cable not charging my Sony, but the cable was charging my work phone Samsung.

Strangely I have swapped by Samsung cable to car and it begins to charge my sony, so good news mystery solved.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated 👍

Hello @Proberts13,

what do you mean by "will not charge" - does it show the lightning within the battery icon?

Or does the battery charge go down even when it shows the charging indicator.

Hi NIC

No charging light comes on or the charging symbol doesn't show, nothing happens when plugged in

Hello @Proberts13,

you said you tried other cables - did you check the port charges other devices?

Did you change any developer-settings on your phone reg. the USB mode?

Tried other devices and work fine.

But I do recall something popping up when I first connected 4 months ago but have never needed to charge in the car since.

Is there a way to change this?

Hello @Proberts13,

just activate the developer settings and change the USB protocol to 'charging'.

Can you please test if it charges then?

Hello @Proberts13

at the top there is a toggle to activate developer options.

If not toggled you can't access any other settings in that menu.

No toggle at top of the page.

Hello @Proberts13,

I was referring to the main developer options menu, not the USB settings menu within the developer settings.

I would ahare a screenshot of my Xperia 5 menu, but I have it set to German, so it might look different.
