Hi,
I shoot in Manual Mode the vast majority of the time. Therefore, the Exposure Compensation Dial takes up valuable top plate collateral but it's of no use to me.
I would like Sony to consider making the Exposure Compensation Dial programmable. In this way, when poeple shoot in Shutter or Apature priority they can set it to Exposure Compensation but, when shooting in Manual Mode, it can be set to other functions, such as ISO or White Balance.
Is it me or does this make sense?
Hi @castagiantshadow and welcome to the Community
Its certainly an idea, What camera are you using?
I do think the dial is probably of more use to the amateur photographer than the pro level,
but it would be interesting to see if any other members have an opinion.
cheers
Hi Jumpsuit,
Sorry for the slow response.
I'm using a Sony a7r.
No worries
Nice camera!
I don't have an opinion on what it could be used for, but I also shoot predominantly in manual so therefore use the dial very little. I'd be interested to see other uses for it (although I don't adjust WB in camera so I wouldn't use it for that either).
