I purchased a Sony FE 35mm f2.8 lens from amazon.co.uk on 18 June 2018. According to Sony, this lens qualifies for an £80 cashback. I submitted my claim 30 days after the purchase date on 18 July 2018. The claim contained my invoice and a photo of the lens. However, my claim was refused with the message: "It appears that the date of purchase is the 21st of May while the claim was submitted on the 19th of June." These dates have nothing to do with my purchase. The messages on this forum suggest that this is not a one off mistake and that Sony seems to routinely refuse legitimate claims.
I to bought a Sony camera and over a hear later am still
waiting for my cashback!
This is totally unacceptable from a company like Sony.

Hi jeke00,
I just received feedback from Sony on your case that your cashback claim was validated and accepted. This means that the cashback amount should be transferred to your bank account within the next 28 days in the form of a direct bank transfer.

Thank you very much for looking into it and helping to resolve the case.
Note that in parallel with this message on the forum, I responded to the rejection email correcting the dates cited as a reason to reject the claim. Before receiving a message indicating that my claim was approved, I received a further rejection stating the following:
Thank you for sending us documents with regards to your purchase. After validation we have noticed that
you have sent us the online order confirmation instead of the invoice.
I had been very careful to download my invoice, not my order confirmation, and I had kept a copy of the document uploaded with the claim. The original claim did include an invoice, not an order confirmation. The word "Invoice" at the top of the document, the "invoice date" and "invoice [number]", the section with "Invoice details" and the "Invoice total" should have been fairly clear clues to person handling my case.
Anyway, thank you very much for helping to resolve my claim.
Hi jeke00,
I'll make sure to put your feedback about your experience through so Sony can avoid similar issues in the future. I'm glad I could help you with this issue and that it's been resolved.

I have received the same message today. Informing me I have provided order confirmation and not an invoice. My documentation supplied to Sony clearly states “invoice”. Product, Currys PCWorld and date of purchase. Sony only have my £600 because of the cash back.
