time lapse using sony alpha 5100

is it possible to download an app to enable time lapse photography on my ILCE 5100?  I tried to download the the playmemories time lapse app but it would even let me log in.

I don't think Sony are doing anything with playmemories anymore as far as the app in the camera  goes so I think I am wasting my time.  Is there any other way to do time lapse with this alpha 5100 mirrorless?  I don't have a particular project in mind so it doesn't really matter.

I've just checked the timelapse app is compatible with the camera: https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/portal/usbdetail.php?eid=IS9104-NPIA09014_00-000003

Since the account used to login to PlayMemories camera apps is through Sony entertainment network (PlayStation), I'd recommend contacting them to help you reset your password.

thank you for looking into it.  I had contacted sony for help but they were not much help.  I had already done a password reset but could not set up an account at playmemories as it said my email address was already being used in another account (my sony account!).  I have now been able to make a sony entertainment account account using a different email address so that I could pay for the ap, and have now been able to finally get the ap on my camera. I still had problems downloading but, after a lot of swearing did eventually manage it.  Why do they make it so complicated?  Sony did say that they were trying to merge things in future.  Also, I don't see why they can't make things work on all browsers.  Rant over.  Thanks again for looking into it for me.
