Hello
updated my BRAVIA KD-49XH9505BU to the latest FW, now everyday when I switch the TV on via the remote, which is linked to a sky + box through my AV system using earc on hdmi3, I get a blue screen saying input doesn’t support HDCP. If I then turn everything off/ on at the socket everything works perfectly. It seems like a handshake issue, but very frustrating and shouldn’t be happening. Any solutions?
thanks
Try clearing the cached data (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data), then make sure Enhanced format and Bravia Sync are enabled (under Settings - Watching TV - External Inputs), then check if it happens again.
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it didn’t work..
Have you tried disconnecting everything from the TV and unplugging everything from the wall and let them depower for like 3 mins or so and try connecting everything back? Or just factory resetting the TV? I can't really tell if it could be a power glitch or a corrupt setting, especially since it works after a simple power off, but worth a shot to check
I'm getting the same issue with the Fire TV Cube (2nd Gen). Apparently none of the ports are HDCP 2.2 so this seems like a Sony bug if this is happening to somebody else with a different input device.
I have a KD-49XE8396.
Sadly John it didn’t work, I’ll try the factory reset. Just very disappointing from a 3 week old TV that didn’t do this for the week before the latest FW update.. Do you work for Sony at all?
I think all HDMI ports that support 4K have to support HDCP 2.2 by default, so I think that's the case
Win_88
All of the ports and connected equipment have to comply to HDCP and they all do, what I’m dealing with is a handshake issue that resolves immediately on power cycling my equipment.
Did the reset and sadly it didn’t work.
it happens anytime the TV and AV receiver are in standby for a few hours or more, it’s very confusing, as soon as I power cycle at the mains, (not even removing the plug) and it’s a very quick switch off/ on, so it’s not even discharging any potential charge in the system. As soon as I do this it all works fine..
My setup up is SKY, 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray player all go into my AV receiver, the AV receiver then connects via HDMI3 set to enhanced mode. As I’ve said everything works perfectly so there is no compatibility issue, it only appears when system has been on standby...
