Built In WiFi problem

Built In WiFi problem

I have a Sony Bravia 55xe8396b TV bought just over a year ago and suddenly seem to be having a major issue with the WiFi on it.

Since getting the TV  we've had multiple occasions where the WiFi has dropped and we've been unable to reconnect at the time, however usually a few days later the issue has sorted itself and we've been able to continue as usual. About 4 months ago, I reset the internet connection with the TV to the WPS setting and since then we've had no problems at all.

Until Thursday, I went to watch Netflix and got a message to say the TV wasn't connected to the internet. When I went back to the home screen and to the settings, I noticed the WiFi button was in the off position. I tried to turn it back on but it keeps flicking straight back to the off position.

I'm now in the process of factory resetting the TV to see if that helps, but for a TV a little over a year old, we didn't anticipate having these problems. A quick google search shows that a lot of people have issues with the internet connection on Sony TVs, so I think this might be our last one if we can't rectify the issue.

Has anyone else had this same issue or something similar? I'm not sure what else to try!

Still OK for me and I have just had another reply from Sony with another
raft of questions (last one had about 15 that I responded to). Original
query contained a lot of this information but hey ho. I'll let you know how
it goes!
With reference to your enquiry regarding your Sony KD-49XF9005, please
reply with the below needed information as it is required by the relevant
team to proceed with the investigation.
- Do you only see the message or do you also get internet disconnected?
- Do you get only short disconnections which cannot be noticed or large
interruption with serious
impact (no network at all)?- After turning on from standby the TV has no
connection.
- A notification is showing on the Home page.
- YouTube doesn't work and show and error message.
- Netflix works. Sometimes it could need to clear cashe and force stop it
to work.
- Also, check if the time is set correctly or not. Make sure to try the
below steps:
Home > Settings > Date & Time > Automatic date and time > Use network time
- Please reply with a pic showing the error message if possible.

I bought a new sony tv a 65 inch one and have to re insert all the password etc of the wifi each time it disconnects and it disconnects too often especially during a film off Amazon or Disney +,   I have spoken to Sony about this and they dont want to know, I have read what you say about pressing the on and off of the remote but that does not cure it, and it took me an hour the other night to get it back on, that is in the middle of a film and ruins it completely, so as good as the picture is on the Sony tv it is poor technically

Still haven't updated yet. TV fine ALL last night but notification re loss
of internet popped up regularly the night before....go figure!! Do you have
BT Broadband smart hub?
When I clicked on 'details' from notification it showed 'BT Hub disabled'.
Simply pressed 'connect' on TV to reconnect. At least I didn't have to
enter password etc again!!

Shot in the dark, but I've had a similar problem with my phone after I've
been out. Sometimes refuses to connect to BT Hub when I return and says hub
disabled. Only difference is I have to reboot hub to resolve. Could it be
hub problem????
