KD-65XF9005 USB recording issue

I have an external hard drive connected to the tv and it has been working well for several months now. However, the tv doesn't record anything now, even though there is a lot of available capacity on the external drive.

The remote control works as expected for recording a program, so everything looks OK. There is a red light at the bottom of the tv, which usually indicates a program has been selected for recording. The problem is, the light is there constantly now, even though I haven't selected anything to record. When I do select something, it doesn't record it.

Simplistically, I think i need to 'reset' the tv, so that the red light goes out and it sorts itself out. I have tried re-tuning the tv, removing the usb cable and powering off the tv and external drive, all to no avail.

Anu suggestions? Thanks.

Hi @paddy0701   Have you tried a soft reset (hold down the power button on your remote until Power Off appears on the screen).

Yes, I tried a soft reset, as well as powering off the tv with the buttons at the back of the screen and separately switching it off at the socket in the wall. All to no avail, unfortunately. It's a mystery!
