Yes, long press on the text and you should get a tool bar at the top. Select the double pages icon. Then go to where you want to past the text and long press again and a past option should appear.

And to select the text just move the arrow that appear when you long press on the text. However, if this doesn't help can you elaborate more on what exactly you are trying to do.
