dcr-dvd115se recording to memory

Have purchased Memory Stick Pro Duo Mark2 16GB (MS-MT16G) to use with my Handycam. Every time I try to use it I get the message "This memory stick may not be able to record or play images correctly" along with loads of warning beeps. The website says this memory is compatible with restrictions - the restrictions seem to be that the file size is limited to 4GB and the higher speeed of the memory stick will not be available.

What is the problem, and can I get rid of the warning message?

Mark

Also check that you have a genuine card. Fake memory cards are everywhere & especially hard to avoid if you use online retailers. False capacity reporting and errors such as the one you noticed here are typical of fake cards.

If you're not sure how to tell if you have a fake, have a look at this site: http://www.overclockers.com.au/wiki/Fake_Memory_Cards

Hello markeeee - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Does this problem still occur after formatting the memory card (after having naturally backed up all files first of all!)

Thanks,

Simon
