I have purchased an external mic for my CX 625. It has the TRS 3.5 mm plug on it. I am assuming that I simply plug the mic cable into the mic socket on the camcorder.
I have the mic mounted on a separate tripod some distance away from the camcorder.
However, the camcorder does not seem to be recording sound from the external mic. At least, the video soundtrack sounds the same whether or not the external mic is plugged in. (And it is very "crackly", too.) Could anyone help me establish what, if anything, I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Rod
The Camcorder powers the Microphone (PLUG IN POWER), does the one you bought have its own power supply and can it be turned off?
Try to turn It off...
Thank you Marino. No, the mic does not have a power supply....
To understand, the model of this Microphone?
Thank you for your help. It's all resolved now. The mic was working and my colleague was not sure how to operate it. I have resolved the matter by mounting the mic on the top of the camcorder with a "Sony MIS to standard cold shoe" adapter and using a short lead to plug the external mic into the camcorder.
