Dark photographs

Have recently purchased a Sony RX10. Disappointed that the photos on a beautiful sunny day are really dark. Do I need to change my settings somewhere? I normally work on Auto mode.

Thanks

Hello @twospoiltboxers,

please upload one of the photos you are talking about - by looking at the EXIF-data, other people here (including me) can tell you what setting was wrong.

Hello @twospoiltboxers,

it seems like you adjusted the exposure compensation to a negative value - also you are exposing rather short (1/1250th of a second) which is not suited for a person standing still.

Thanks new camera still getting used to all the settings. Will change the ones you have suggested I look at and hopefully all will be good from now on. 👍🏻

Hello @twospoiltboxers,

I think it would be easiest to simply reset the camera and then dial the mode-selector to "A" or "P".
