The following should help you to deactivate Demo Mode on the Reader..
Follow these steps to activate or deactivate Demo Mode on the Reader Wi-Fi:
- Gently press the Reset button with a bent-open paper clip.
- Press the power button on the bottom of the reader to turn it on.
- While is being displayed, press and hold the Previous and Back buttons.
- Once the Home screen is displayed, wait at least five seconds and then release the Previous and Back buttons.

Could I suggest to all that it is always a good idea to scroll down looking at titles of posts to see if a similar - if not identical - post has been made ? It can save you time if you're lucky !
Sadly, I've found the Search facility here is ....useless?every time I've tried to use it !
This time I searched for "Demo mode/demo/demonstration mode/ demonstation/ ... you get the picture !
But, remembering an earlir post, I scrolled - and ye shall find ....

despite the "solved" tag - which is clearly non-true,
I have tried several times to follow this procedure and it ABSOLUTELY doesn't work
