Issue Sony wf1000xm3 - impossible to connect to windows10 computer

Hi, I have bought several time ago the earphones wf xm3. I don't have any problem to listen to music with them with my android phone, I can connect them via bluetooth. However, it is impossible to use them with my windows 10 laptop.

I am turning on the bluetooth of my computer and search for new device, but the earphones don't appear. I think it might be an issue linked with my computer (as the earphones work with my phone) but I don't know what to do.

I looked for other posts tackling this issue, but I haven't seen a post where the user didn't manage to "see" the earphones with their computer. I just want to precise that the bluetooth of my computer works perfectly with other devices. I tried to update the bluetooth of my computer  (tool "Troubleshooting bluetooth") without getting any improvement.

If you have any answer/help/advise, it would be down for it

Maybe try factory resetting them before trying to pair again.

Hi

Are you sure the laptop is compatible with the Headphones? It seems to me that both the Headphones and the Laptop work well independently from one another, so I can't fault either, You can find the Bluetooth specs of your headphones here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wf-1000xm3/speci...

Hi, thanks for the answer

I checked the bluetooth specs of the wf xmw (bluetooth 5.0) and of my computer, (LMP 10 -> Bluetooth 5.1) so they should be compatible

Do you have any other track I could investigate in?

This might be too simple but it's easily overlooked, try going into pairing mode before trying to look for them.

I have tried it by pressing both buttons of the earphone during a long
time. Unfortunately it doesn't change anything

I tried also to reboot them without success

Ok I tried the factory resetting and it worked - so thanks a lot!

Actually I almost replied before testing it because I had already tested it and it hasn't worked. Good luck for the others who will have the same pb

if you go to device manager on your pc and select the Bluetooth device folder right click on the Bluetooth device and uninstall then reboot and windows will reinstall your Bluetooth device, this action can be done for most issues, soundcard, network etc.
