BD+ update to Bluerayplayer BDP-S570

Just bought Avatar Extended Collectors Disc. When i load a disc the player says i need to upgrade the firmware. Have search on google and there are many more with other players than Sonys ho´s got problem to play Avatar. The problems seems to be a new copy protection called BD+.  When can we expect a software update ?

Hi,

if your player is connected to the internet wired or wirelessly it will do it for you, you need to set the player in the menu to update automatically.

Yes i am aware of that, my questions was if anyone could answer if and when a update well be avalible. I would like to see the blueray version this weekend, but that´s may be to much to expect.

If you have done an upgrade and its still not playing back, then please call the call centre and explain its not working. Every now and then, a rogue disc can pop up with some kind of issue like this which requries manufacturers to issue a patch.

If its confirmed, it will be patched in a later firmware.

I sent a email to the support yesterday evening. Hope it will do it. It´s remarkeble how a filmcompany can add a copyprotection and don´t tell it to the hardware people. It´s the same problem if you have a LG, Samsung or a Sony player. It seems that the only player who can play the new Avatar box is the PS3. Always something, but i don´t have a PS3
