Hello, I want a dvd that I can play Region 1 dvds on and Sainsburys has an excellent offer on a slimline player that I would really like but they can only tell me that they know it works for Region 2, they can't find

out if it will play Region 1. There's nothing on the Sony site that I can find with this reference number, if

anyone out there has bought this player and knows the answer to my question I would be really grateful if

you could let me know.

The manual, which you can download, says that the player will only play DVDs that match the Region Codes printed on the back of the player. If Sainsbury's have one on display, you may be able to see the Region Coding information.

I think this is the only way to be sure as this model is made with both 'Region Free' and 'Region 2 only' playback options.
