DZ260 vs. BDV-E190

Hi,

I currently own a DAV-DZ260 home cinema, although I am very pleased with the performance of the unit I'm considering an upgrade as I want to be able to play Blu-Ray and access on demand TV.

The model that I am considering is the BDVE190:

Since I am very pleased with the permance of the DZ260 I want to know if the BDVE190 is a comparable model in terms of sound output. The technical data for the new model seems to suggest that it is a 300w model?

I'm struggling to find comparable data for the DZ260, one source seems to suggest that it is a 850w model?

I'm not sure if I am mis-reading the data, price wise they are similar but I can't believe that the oder model is almost 3 times more pwoerful?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi there

In turns of audio wattage output, your older DZ260 is 850w and the BDV-E190 is 300w.  Sony release a range of models to suit individual needs and budgets.  I will say though that the BDV-E190 is now a discontinued model.  Have you considered Sony's new range of Blu-ray based home entertainment systems.

I understand that it is approx £80 more than what you were anticipating.  But....Do it once, Do it Right. Im just giving you an alternative viewpoint.  Continue your research, to ensure that you get the product that matches your needs and budget.

Many thanks for your input... so it seems I was looking at a lesser model, I presumed that because it was a similar price to what I paid for my existing model that it was a similar model.

As I mentioned I am very pleased with the performance of my existing model so I want something which is compariable in terms of power, I had overlooked the BDV-E190 but it looks to be exactly what I need!
