HT-G700 soundbar loses audio on HDMI input
Hi,
I have the new HT-G700 soundbar which is connected to my Sky Q by HDMI (on the input). The output HDMI goes to the TV (ARC input). Generally it works fine however, when I need to rewind or fast-forward a program on Sky, I lose all audio on the soundbar. I have to either turn it off and on again OR change input to TV and then back to HDMI to restore audio.
Is this an issue with the SB?

Hi there,
Have you tried a factory reset?
Best wishes,

I have the same issue on Sky Q but only on certain programmes, CSI LV being one of them. Only somewhat solution I have found is pausing the programme after fast forwarding, give it a few seconds then pressing play.
Also have some issues with netflix as the soundbar doesnt seem to not know which audio codec to play as reflashes up with DD+ but nothing has changed

Have you tried contacting Sky about this? I'm fairly certain that the issue is with the box and not the sound bar itself, since it works normally for some programmes with no issue.

The same audio loss occurs when you skip through channels too quickly. And when you are watching sky recordings the audio regularly drops causing the soundbar to re-assess the audio soundtrack with a second or so delay. More so during advert playback hence the need to have fastforward and reverse working well.

I have the same soundbar with the same issue. After a thousands of emails with support. They told me to disable Audio Pass trough mode and the problem disappear.

Hi Pezza76, have you tried any of the steps on the thread? Also, sometimes a simple power cycle resolves the issue.

Tried everything and also spoke with SONY support - no success.
Power-cycling is not a god experience as I have to turn off the TY everything I watch any recorded content. Which when you have a lot of adverts can be every 15 minutes.

Hi Pezza,
Did you try to plug the SB directly to your TV ARC?
