I can hear a notification sound even though there are no new notifications

My phone has started making a notification noise constantly even when I've got no messages and it's driving me nuts

Hi @Sarah1973, that must be very annoying, sorry to hear about this.

Do you by any chance have your device in a case where you are also store your bank card or another card, for example a bus card? If you do, there is a NFC sensor on back of the device that will try to read these cards and you will hear a sound and a vibration.

If you go Settings > More and turn NFC off, are you still receiving these notifications? If you do, try restarting your device in safe mode, just so we can make sure that a downloaded application isn't the cause of this.
