Xperia S Battery Drain

Xperia S Battery Drain

I know we're dealing with Android OS here, which isnt the greatest when it comes to battery life but even after setting all connections to manual sync the battery drops rather quickly. Is it just me or is anyone else having the same issue. Lets see if we can get a Bug Fix out of this.

Yes - actually the phone is working much better now. I think it kept trying to sync with an email account which it didn't like. Thanks.

Hi, all.

I got the latest firmware update today and I must say battery life is hugely improved. After the whole day I still have 50%+ left and I really used the phone.

I noticed the change when observing the phone in idle mode. I was used to see how battery would drain in minutes of idle and now I would come back again and again to see that the battery was still the same.

I really hope ICS upgrade does not ruin it. Now it makes much more sense to me.

that's normal, 17hrs its actually really good, 12hrs is the average smartphone battery life.

That can not be true. Before the sony s i had the nokia lumia smartphone. Usage time was about 35 hours. I know from my girlfriend (iphone 4s) that she can do about 40 hours with het phone. But with the sony s, and yes, only on standby its 17 hours charged. that can not be normal.

Thanks for the link. Is this link universal. Because the language in my phone is Dutch. Only the firmware right??? no other changes?

Hi,

I have been pretty upset with the battery performance and after trying out few apps (which is ridiculous after paying huge amount we have to rely on apps for battery performance) I have come across a better batter performance which is Trend Micro Longevity app.

I have seen a better performance after using this tool but still Sony has to rectify this problem. It drains very fast compared to other competitors.

I'm also having problems with batterydrain. With my first Xperia S (running .67) the phone could consume 40% during 8h of idling during the night. tried, everything, even running the phone completely empty after a factory reset.

now i have a new xperia s running on .73. it's a bit better now but it still consumes about 20% during 8 hours of idling (one exchange account set on push). with wlan turned off it consumes 10% which is still quite high.

Here are some screenshots for 10h (3h of _very_ light use and 7h idling with wlan turned off):

I wonder why the phone suddenly is awakened in the middle of the night for that long?
