Will the W829 get Android TV and YouView via firmware update?

But then read about the 55W850C with Android tv and You view. Is this a new version of the 829 and will the 829 not get these new apps or might it via a firmware update do you think?

Hi there

The question has been asked from Sony in regards to 2014 TVs getting Android and am waiting for an official statement to be released.  However unfortunately there some reasons why Android will not be going onto 2014 TVs - mainly hardware compatibility reasons.

If you want an Android based 2015 TV, and can wait a little longer - might be best

Thanks for the info. Gonna wait till April when released in the UK. Too good an opportunity to miss out on this software.
