Have you turned it on,try reinstalling the drivers and software for it.Install the most recent ICH7 Chipset drivers for Laptops from Intel.Check Sony for updates too.It could be just a simple system conflict.Check also in Control Panel/Device Manager and make sure all is configured and the Properties are correct.
