Aspect Ratio Problem

Hi,
I have a VGX-XL100 with Windows Media Centre 2005 with a widescreen Panasonic Viera 1080 pixel TV. When I use the record TV function and then go back at a later date to view the recorded programe it does not show on full screen, but the picture is a square.
Can anyone help me out please?

Hi there
I have Vista but if MC is the same as MC 2005 can you press the Info button on the remote & use the zoom function? I assume Media Centre is set to 1080i
