Boot Screen, and OS PLEASE READ

Hi Guys, I downloaded a boot screen changer off the net and i ran my computer with it, it worked fine. The only problem was that I had to choose at bootup which os i was to use, and it comes up with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP1 and another which is )line or something similar. Can i delete that so i can have my normal bootup, without having to select it any more. What risks are there involved.

Hi Harry,
I have to ask myself why are you getting a choice of OS now and not before.
Did you have the choice before? If not why has it appeared after installing a boot screen changer?
What is the name of this other OS?
Boot screen changers can be very dangerous, so I hope you were given the option to back up your original files before installing the changer.

Make sure you know what it is that you will be deleting (you did not tell us), then if you are sure you know what you are doing and won`t cause any havoc, here is how to do it.

You have to edit the boot.ini file
This MS article tells you how to access it. Find the OS you no longer want and delete it. Don`t forget to back up boot.ini before editing it in case something goes wrong.

OR
Or you can go to Start/Run and type "msconfig", then in the boot.ini tab you can delete the line for the non-existant OS. Again remember to back it up first.
